Reset password

The password-reset process can begin from several places:

• The user themselves activates this process from the system’s login window [Login], when not connected to it
• The user themselves activates this process from the settings screen, when connected to the system
• A system administrator requests to reset a user’s password from the user-details editing screen.

The process begins with the system sending the user an email message worded as follows:

A password-reset request has been received

To reset your password, please click the link below to go to the login screen, identify yourself with the temporary password shown below, and continue the process according to the on-screen instructions

This message contains a temporary password!

In order to reset the password, the user must navigate to the login window, and identify themselves with their username and the temporary password that arrived in the message. If the temporary identification succeeded, the user will be taken to a new-password screen. After setting the new password, the user will be taken again to the login window, where they will identify themselves with the username and the new password they set…
