The form-types bar on the main screen

The bar appears automatically on the system’s main screen [for more about the main screen – see here]

The bar can appear “Expanded” or “Collapsed”. You can switch between the modes using the toggle in its top-left corner.

The actions described later in this article apply to the expanded mode.

The bar displays all the form types in the system, and above them all the text “Every form type”. If no forms have been built in the system yet, the bar will not appear, and instead an appropriate message will appear directing the user to build the first form. The form types are initially sorted alphabetically, but each time one of them is selected – the order changes as described below.

Possible actions in the bar:

  • Select “Every form type” in order to display the records from all form types in the system in the “records table” when it is “unified”, to the left of the bar [for more on the “records table” – see here]. In this case, the records table will show a limited display, only of fixed columns common to all form types in the system.
  • Select a certain form type in order to display records of this form type only [only records you are allowed to see – for an explanation of preventing access to records via permissions – see the form editor screen]. Note that each time you select a certain form type that is not “pinned” – its name will rise to the top of the form-types list in the bar. In this case, the records table can show a much richer display – in which the organization can determine the displayed columns. To change the display – see here.
  • If the form type is not “pinned”, pin it by clicking the pin icon that appears when the mouse cursor is placed over the form type’s name
If the form type is “pinned”, you can unpin it by clicking that same pin icon that appears permanently next to the form type’s name.
