Document editing/adding dialog box
| This dialog window is displayed when you want to add a “template document” to an existing document collection. This action is useful only when you want to generate several documents simultaneously from a single record; otherwise, there is no need to add a file, since the action of creating the document collection already required adding a first file…
The “template document” you add to the document collection must be a WORD document with a DocX extension – otherwise it cannot be used in the document generator. Also – it should contain “placeholders” for fields and signatures, in order to be of use. Note that document collections containing more than one document cannot be used for electronic signing, and therefore, if you intend to replace an existing document in the document collection with another – you should not add a document, but rather replace a document. Cancel this add action in that case, and see the help on the previous screen regarding the document replacement action… If you have questions regarding the document generator – see here a list of questions and answers… |
To load the document, first click the “Load document” button, choose a document to load, and confirm.
The system will give the document the file name you loaded. You can change this name from the “Name” field, and also write a “Description” for the document. Also, you can load another file to replace the existing file (for example, in case you need to load a corrected file instead of the existing one) If you want to use this document for digital signatures – check “This template is used for digital signatures”, and update the displayed data in the manner described in this article. Checking this option at the document level will cause the default values of those options to be copied as they were set for the entire organization level in the “Organization” screen [see Organization screen here]. Information about most of the signature parameters can be found here. Only one signature parameter appears only here, and it is: “Address to navigate to after signing” – the signer will be redirected to this address after performing the signature. You can find questions and answers regarding electronic signatures on this page. |
