Dialog window – value list of a list-type control

This dialog window allows editing a “value list” for list-type controls [drop-down list, multi-select list, single-select list]

If the list opened empty, click inside the text box <>, and type the value you want to add. When you want to save this value in the list – click the green V mark next to the value. If you decided not to save the value – click the red X mark.

Each time you save a new value, a place will open again below it to add another value.

You can manage an “order” for the values.

To do so, choose “Custom order” under “Set order for items”, and then use the small arrow marks next to the values to move them down or up.

If you choose “Alphabetical order” under “Set order for items”, the system will sort the items alphabetically automatically.

The order of the items will be meaningfully reflected in the records editing screen.

Except in exceptional cases – it is recommended to let the system sort the items alphabetically automatically – it is more convenient for whoever uses the system. The exceptional cases are those in which it is more convenient to arrange the list in a certain order that does not match the alphabetical sorting of the values – for example: active / inactive, when active is the most common value and should be first in the list, not second…
